Cayuga Duck

A beautiful bird with black plumage and a pearlescent sheen which in certain lights gives their feathers a bottle green appearance. They are a High Priority At Risk rare breed according to the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.

A gentle breed that’s a good size and will lay green to grey coloured eggs. They can be fairly vocal and can also fly, so if they aren’t kept in an aviary, it would be sensible to clip their flight feathers.

They work well in mixed flocks with similar sized ducks. A true green gem to add to your collection.

Laying season: Spring to Autumn

Prices (minimum order 2):

             Ducklings  £12 each

             POL            £50 each

Miniature Appleyard Duck

These rare breed ducks have a massive personality and are a personal favourite of mine. Smaller than the Caygua, they are good to mix with similar sized ducks, and will give you endless entertainment!

They are a fairly noisy breed and they can fly, so if they aren’t kept in an aviary then it would be sensible to clip their flight feathers.

Ebden Goose

This is the quintessential white goose of Mother Goose fame. One of the most recognisable breeds, they are dual purpose for meat and eggs.

Amazing guard dogs, they will alert you when people walk onto your property; I call mine 'the alarm system'. Despite this, all my geese have a very good nature and are not at all aggressive. If you take on goslings be prepared - imprinting is a real possibility.

Laying season: February to May

Prices (minimum order 2):

             Goslings  £15 each

             POL          £60 each
