An instantly recognisable breed, the Pygmy goat comes in a wide range of colour combinations and in long or short coated varieties. 

 

As herd animals, they need companionship with at least one other goat and prefer to be in bigger groups.

 

Fun fact, the goat is not waterproof, so they require shelters that are waterproof, draught proof and large enough.

 

Goats are browsers rather than grazers, so although they will graze on grass they will also feast on hedges and shrubs. It is crucial that their field is free from poisonous plants, and fencing is secure as goats are known for being escape artists!
