FAQs
Q. How much does it cost?
A. It costs £7.50 for up to 3 birds per day, with a minimum stay of 5 days, amounting to £37.50. Additional birds can be added at £2.50 per bird per day. Payment in full is required to secure the booking.
Q. How many birds can fit in one pen?
A. Maximum of 12 bantams or 8 large chickens. If you have a mixed group, contact us for advice.
Q. What breeds do you allow in?
A. We welcome any breed of chicken, and cockerels can be included.
We can also take ducks. A small plastic pond will be added to the run for them.
Chickens and ducks will not be housed together, so if you’ve got both coming to stay, you will need to book separate pens.
Q. What times can I drop off and collect?
A. Check-in is from 3:30pm onwards and collection before 12:00pm, so that we can clean for next guests.
Q. Are the pens cleaned thoroughly between visits?
A. Yes. Pens are disinfected with Virkon S eliminating the risk of disease such as bird flu. Shavings and bedding are swept out and replaced with fresh supplies.
Q. Will our birds be fed the same feed as they are at home?
A. I am sure you will appreciate we cannot store multiple brands on site. We feed them Heygates Country Layers Pellets which provide a nutritious and sufficiently mild diet, so should not upset the birds in any way. With your permission, seasonal fruit/vegetables fresh from our garden are also offered.
Q. Will our birds mix in with other birds?
A. Absolutely not. The pen you book is for your flock alone.
